About
Hi. I’m Joshua and I’m an architect. On the way to launching my own practice, I’ve lived an exciting life. I’ve been deployed to Egypt and Iraq with my national guard unit. I’ve lived in my hometown and home state of Arkansas enjoying southern bar-b-que and SEC football. I’ve also lived with the Rocky Mountains just to my west and enjoyed the thrill of their snow packed slopes. And I’ve married a girl who’s way out of my league and who’s given me two hysterical, spirited children that I work so hard for. Oh yeah, I survived architecture school (actually two architecture schools), too. That’s a lot of life, but that’s also a lot of experiences that have shaped my values.
Here’s how it started.
During my deployment to Egypt I got a crazy idea to build a spec house. God bless the banker who gave me a loan from 7000 miles away. Let’s be honest. I didn’t walk away rich, but I did find a passion creating functional space.
As that passion grew, I found myself with some great opportunities to explore design. I worked as a project estimator which grew into a draftsman position. Eventually, I worked my way into an architecture firm doing CAD (computer-aided design) work. I worked quickly and efficiently. And then I took the plunge into architecture school. The thing I miss most about school? Walking through downtown Boston and finding the best little restaurants.
My nontraditional entrance to this career that I’m so passionate gives me a unique perspective.
Here’s what I believe.
I believe in fair, honest relationships. I believe in humility and allowing the work to speak for itself. I believe that you get out what you put in. I love getting to know my clients. I love solving design problems. I love my family.
Let’s visit about your design ideas and needs. Then, let’s make your dream into a real space that makes you happy, comfortable and safe.
